Seriously, we are living in a time of bionic power fascination. Tons of Russian soldiers are fueled up by Anabolic steroids & SARMs, and China is following this.
Anabolic steroid is still a thing and heavily used!
How much science is advancing hardcore bodybuilders are getting themselves juiced up with these substances, even newcomers are following suit.
Nothing much has changed from Arnold Schwarzenegger time. People still using and abusing steroids to get the hulk look and it’s killing them.
The former Mr. California, who collapsed in his Miami home at age 46, had previously spoken about how his steroid use was under control.
He stated in a 2016 YouTube video, “If you want to be a professional bodybuilder, guess what—you’re probably going to have to f– –’ do ’em,”
What does that tell you?
Nothing much has changed in the world of science people still doing the same old s**t.
Somewhere in a gym there is this average bodybuilder who has been training for years and looking for ways to be bigger, stronger and hulkier.
The Side-effects That Come With Androgenic Anabolic Steroids (AAS)
Most bodybuilders once they get involved with Anabolic steroids they sink so deep, and it becomes too late.
The caveat of AAS is its PERMANENT DAMAGE!
Being a hulk with a damaged liver & shrunk testicles is really not worth the risk (1).
In the old days, these kind of facts around side-effects were not there. Bodybuilders and athletes had to figure it out for themselves.
Truth be told,
the downsides outweigh the benefits.
Let me ask you, are you willing to have a non-functioning penis and damaged liver just to look better?
What if I told you, there is still a way!
In the last 10 years, there have been non-steroidal compounds created to provide impressive results similar to steroids without screwing your endocrine or hormonal system.
Welcome To SARMs
SARMs or Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator is a result of developed molecules with a significant degree of tissue selectivity targeting the Androgen receptor to eliminate undesired side effects and to maintain (and in the future to enhance) the positive, protective effects of selective transcriptional receptor activation (3).
What does that mean?
– You can gain lean muscle of up to 20 lbs. Without any elevation in liver values (4).
– Zero changes in LDL levels, while experiencing fat loss (5).
– Enhancing your strength and power in the gym without dealing with testis that you barely see. Plus it will not lead to the shutdown of your Testosterone production (6).
Are SARMs too good to be true?
SARMS originally were not designed for bodybuilders or athletes.
One of the troubling things medicine was facing for the past decade was a condition called muscle wasting that eventually leads to death if not treated swiftly (7).
This condition usually associated with life-threatening diseases like Cancer, AIDS & Osteoporosis (8).
The only way scientists used to treat this muscle wasting disorder was through Androgenic Steroids. But the side-effects were giving toxic results. And thus, they needed a tissue-selective steroid that focuses locally without giving systemic side-effects (9).
And that’s when SARMS was born.
SARMS saved lives and was able to prevent muscle loss in these patients. And they never faced any undesirable androgenic effects that AAS cause.
SARMs For Bodybuilders
This tissue-selective steroid is considered heaven to bodybuilders out there.
Imagine you are on a cutting cycle and you only lose fat and maintain your muscles!
If you are bulking up, then have no fear of shrinking your testes or screwing up your hormones.
All you will get is pure lean muscle mass, enhancing your fat loss, swift muscle recovery, healthy joints, and incredible strength.
How SARMs Work?
There are specific Androgenic receptors that SARMs attaches to & intensify that gene expression or block it, which is utilized by that specific androgen receptor (10).
Thus, you’ll deal with specific desired effects without having it attached to all receptors with androgenic function and making a mess.
So it tackles the muscle tissue without initiating anything related to your liver, testes or adrenal cortex (11).
Moreover, once you consume SARMs your body starts to focus on muscle tissues, getting rid of fats, increase the healing speed and enhance strength. You’ll definitely lift heavier weights much faster than usual.
But is it all dandy and perfect?
How Safe Are SARMs Compared To Androgenic Anabolic Steroids?
In THEORY, they should be slightly safer…
SARMS should target the androgen receptors in the muscle and not anywhere else. So you should get less androgenic side effects.
That’s the theory anyway. In my opinion, its too early to say. There isn’t enough research and there’s a lot of BS out there. Compare that with testosterone which has been extensively studied and used in medicine for 60 years (12).
What does that mean?
No real study supports SARMs safety in the long run.
And yes, in theory, your body should not give you any side-effects. But that’s not really true on practical grounds.
Don’t forget SARMs are synthetic substances and not natural.
You still get minor side effects, and you still need PCT and they don’t seem to be as effective as testosterone or HGH…so why bother? Here is a comparison between steroids and SARMs:
|Mechanism||Main purpose of binding to cellular androgen receptors. The purpose was to give the same beneficial effects as anabolic steroids, but in a selective manner, which means way fewer bad effects for men and especially women who use them.||Anabolic steroids are drugs that resemble androgenic hormones (sometimes called male hormones) such as testosterone. Athletes consume them in the hope of gaining weight, strength, power, speed, endurance, and aggressiveness.|
|Side-Effects||Minor compared to steroids||
|Legal to Buy Online||Legal buying for research purposes only.||No|
|Ingredients||· Andarine (S4)
· Enobosarm (Ostarine, MK-2866)
· Ligandrol (LGD-4033)
· RAD140 (Testolone)
|Most are a synthetic derivative of testosterone.|
|Administration||Orally||Orally & Injection|
|History||New to research||Tons of studies|
|Pricing||$350+ for one cycle (cutting or bulking)||$700+ for one cycle (cutting or bulking)|
|Shipping||It’s still risky to be shipped in some countries. So you need to ask your supplier if they have shipped to your country before.||Can’t buy online and will never be shipped to your place.|
|Expected Results||Results aren’t as good as steroids but side-effects are minimal||Amazing results with permanent side-effects.|
|Official Website||No official website, you have to google them on your own risk.||Definitely not.|
Why are bodybuilders Using SARMs?
- No permanent side-effects compared to AAS.
- Gives results, yes not as AAS but still, there are results.
- Not as expensive as AAS.
- Easier to buy online compared to Steroids. (some countries ban SARMs)
Why There are so many articles online stating that SARMs aren’t safe?
There was a study published in JAMA, addressing that in reality, the SARMs that are found on the black market aren’t really SARMs.
They analyzed 44 drugs marketed as SARMS and found 59 percent of the compounds listed on the label was significantly different than what the analysis actually found.
This means most suppliers are ripping people of. And even worse making SARMs dangerous.
SARMs are less dangerous than steroids but they’re still dangerous because of this issue.
Where to buy SARMs
Legally SARMS are sold for research only, and many US financial processors have cracked down on their sales over the past year or two.
This has caused a cascading effect which has driven companies who produce the products underground and have made SARMS more challenging to find.
Add to this the problem of a lot of fake products coming from China, and you have a tough situation for consumers.
If you are comparing between SARMs & steroids then I guess it would make sense to you know which one is worth the risk. If you are not interested in both SARMS or steroids. Then I urge you to check my new article on Crazy bulk Vs Steroids.
There has been another legal steroid alternative on the market that I shared my insights on.
My last tip, don’t get fooled by BS out there regarding SARMs in this article I tried my best to reference the right sources to avoid any misleading info on SARMs.
